Well, this is a new one on me...

Got a letter from Barclaycard apologising for reporting inaccurate information on my old Morgan Stanley/Barclaycard a/c to CRAs and stating that they should have been reporting it as defaulted from 29 September 2010.

V. kind of them! I thought DNs had to be registered within certain time limits (3-6 months?) Can they do this?

They also included a Formal Demand for Payment stating they have previously issued me with a DN on this a/c...which I have never received :!:

I have not sent them a CCA letter as they appeared simply to have forgotten about this but will do so today along with an SAR, if that's a good idea. Any other suggestions gratefully received and copies of their correspondence attached.

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Interesting that they have a defaulting balance higher than the balance outstanding (a difference of £51.00) ? Did you make any payments toward the account.

Thanks Slick - do we have one thread consolidating all of these cases or are you sticking to individual threads? It does seem Barclays have some sort of plan...or maybe not...in trying to scoop up a lot of old debts, whether or not token payments are being made. Perhaps concerted group action might see them off?

I set up this thread already - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?416744-BC-sending-out-generic-letters-about-BC-a-c-s(1-Viewing)-nbsp

But please use your own threads to ask Q's or discuss your own cases as they develop.

Also, be warned that many will post there about their specific cases, and we'll be forever asking them to start their own new threads. Lol

:-)
