Good afternoon,

I really, *really* need some help with this. I had a PC that I bought from an online store (Express-PCs) on eBay. It went faulty within it's warranty, so as requested I returned it to them via Parcel Force for repair on 31/03/2006. It arrived at the repair centre

(I know as I checked online and got confirmation from Parcel Force), but they've not spoken to me since.

In the interim since having sent the PC off and today, I've sent them about thirty e-mails but not had a single reply. At one point, I even thought that the company had been liquidated.

Does anyone have any idea of what I can do, the whole escapade has been drawn out for over six months now. And I really need the PC back for university work.

-Dave

Find out their details from companies house, and contact the MD/owners direct. Failing that, take them to small claims.

Off goes the letter today by recorded delivery.

Is it worth getting in touch with Trading Standards or whatever they go by nowadays?

  • 7 months later...

Hi everyone

I'm another victim of Express PCs.

I've bought a router and after 30 days of the purchase date they havent sent anything.

I've asked them and they say they've sent. I've asked for the tracking number but Royal Mail does not have any information about this tracking number. Then I've asked a number of times for a proof of delivery (a receipt from Royal Mail) by fax or scanned message and they refuse to send.

Oh well... the delivery address is an office, open everyday from 8am to 7pm and we receive packages with goods almost everyday, without problems.

They sent me a form to be signed where I state that I haven't received anything, I've checked with my neighbors, etc, etc.

The point is: I refuse to sign the form because the tracking number is void. I simply cannot sign it because I dont have proof they really sent the package.

What do you recommend?

How can I contact Trading Standards?

Kind Regards and Thank you in advance!

WHo sent the form? Rm or your seller?

I would fill it in as that's the wasy they will be refunded.

How did you pay? paypal or bank transfer?

If paypal , send an email asking for refund immediatley and if no or lack of response start and INR dispute- remember you only hav 45 days to open one from the date of purchase.

If bank transfer or check i am afraid your up to the mercy of the seller for a quick refund and may have took take legal action ifnot forthcoming

If you type in trading standards in your dearch engine it will take you to their main page and then you can type in your postcode and will be directed to your nearest office.

I eventually got on to Gateshead Trading Standards (their local one, not mine) who eventually got them to send me a replacement.

In the meantime I purchased a new computer. So I asked the person who was liaising for me at the Trading Standards if I would get a new warranty and if it would be transferred if to the new owner if I sold the PC; which I was told it would.

The new owner of the PC has reported that the PC is broken and that they have been unable to contact Express PCs. Gateshead Trading Standards have advised the new owner to seek a refund from me, although I don't have the money - I've been advised to seek a refund from Express PCs but there doesn't seem to be any sort of way to contact them.

What on earth can I do?
