Hiya,

ive missed a DMP payment (first and last one) due to overspending at xmas and having been paid early,

i had thought it had gone out (as my statement showed it had but actually it hadnt!!)

and im wondering should i write to my creditors explaining that they wont get their payment this month

(they will be expecting it by end of Jan) or just leave it and continue to pay,

ive not yet heard back from my debt management company,

i dont want to chase them as i feel bad for having been so foolish,

but im really worried that i'll start getting letters/calls from creditors because of my stupidity.

If you think i should send a letter is there a template or an example letter ??

Ive tried to look online but no joy.

Hello there, who is the DMP firm? If they are managing your debts you could contact them to inform your creditors. Of course there isn't anything to stop you contacting your creditors directly - and often taken a proactive approach could prevent the creditors taking further action. How much do you owe in total, and how much do you pay to the DMP firm?

Best wishes,

David @ NDL.

I was with cccs now step change,

when I was in-between jobs I had to miss two payments as part of my then debt management plan,

cccs cancelled my plan and left me high and dry,

there are only interested in 100% standard/clients, meaning less hassles for them,

since cccs closed my debt management plan/case, I did my own debt management plan with my creditors,

I even managed to get the monthly payments lowered to a figure more affordable,

( you can always pay more when you earn more )

something that cccs NEVER offered me,

there just said you agreed the amount, stick to it,

I now manage my OWN plan and have so for two years now, without any problem at all,

I've now cleared three debts, and see light at the end of the tunnel,

although there is some way to go,

maybe you should continue with step change,

maybe you should start/manage your own debt plan,

there are plus and minus to both,

but personally arranging my own plan has worked and continues to run smoothly.

I note you owe £4k and repay £260 per month,

if you are finding the repayments hard to manage,

maybe ask step change, to recalculate your payments, to a figure more affordable,

many people use step change or other debt management company,

until there feel comfortable to continue the plan alone,

don't fret too much at missing one payment,

either just ring and explain to step change,

or wait until there contact you, either way, don't worry.

as above!!

I hope you sent all your creditors a CCa request where its appropriate

don't forget, no DMC fee paying or otherwise

is the least bit interested if your debt ACTUALLY LEGALLY EXIST.

ever thought of reclaiming PENALTY charges & PPI if they exist on these debts too?

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

That other post was for another debt i had 10++ years ago

and a company was trying to get me to pay them back £4K when the debt is now statute barred,

they wrote back to me explaining they had looked into it and i was correct and they wouldnt be pursuing me any further..........

.......As for CCA ive never asked for one of those from any of the companies i owe to, i wasnt aware i needed to??

how would this help me??

None of the debts have been passed to a debt collection company and i am paying the orginal creditor.............

...............Most of my debts are with payday loan companies so i dont think PPI claims would help..

..and the credit cards i know they did ask if i wanted PPI and i declined it, as i only got them recently................

Just another quick question

i did have a loan years and years ago with HSBC and i paid it all back albeit through a court order attached to my wages so it came straight out of my wages,

this was about 10 years ago now and

i was just wondering could i still see about PPI on that loan even though it went to the courts???.............................................

StepChange have been really helpful and said not to worry and that they would write to the companies

explaining and that i am just to pay as normal next month so thats a relief.

you need to CCA request them all.

no cca = no pay.
