If you dial 141 before the normal number, your number is withheld from the person called. But if you try this with a text message, it does not work. Does anyone know why? How do I withhold my number on text messages?

You can't withhold your number on a text message - every message must have an identified sender. There are various websites that let you send messages where the sender is only identified as the website, but you might have to pay.

You can. Plenty of businesses such as dcas do it. Normally through an online automated system

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

I am not sure but i think you can hide your number on a mobile,go into phone settings and scroll to send my caller identity and select no.

I tried to change the settings on my mobile phone to withhold the number, but it only works for voice calls. The setting is ignored for text messages. If I try to send a message and dial 141 in front of the number, the message is not sent.

If they are being sent by automated software then you cant trace it without going through your service provider. The texts are sent via voip so there technically is no number to log.
