Hi there, first time poster so not sure if this is the right place for this question.

I am dealing with a claim through my mobile phone insurance company, the claim has been accepted and I am more than likely going to receive a replacement handset.

My question is can they keep my other handset or can I request it be returned to me?

I was hoping to recycle the damaged one and recoup some of my costs :-)

Hopefully someone can help, thanks in advance

No, they will request the phone sent to them otherwise they will charge the card that you gave them to pay the excess. oh , and you wont get a new phone you will get a reconditioned one, they then recondition your one and the next claimant will get it.

Sound about right. Check the terms of your Insurance contract regarding a replacement following loss.

Mobile phone Insurances are so often claimed on, that Insurers will try to limit the amount of losses that they are subjected to.

We could do with some help from you.

Thanks for the reply Lula.

I have paid the excess and I am in the process of returning the phone to them, I am also aware that it will be reconditioned phone that I will get. Should have read the small print!

I just thought due to paying the excess and the rest of my years premiums upfront I would be able to get my phone back.
