Hi,

My daughter has just got a job in a pub. She explained to the manager that she had had problems with an ex boyfriend who was on bail & had to keep away from her before she got the job, but was told was not a problem. She has worked for a week, but today when she went into work was told by her manager that she had to sack her as her manager had had a complaint from "someone" that they had to leave the pub when she came into work.

Is this legal?

ANY advise PLEASE?

Depends entirely 'what' the complaint was about?

A simple complaint about her wouldn't be cause for a dismissal IMO, however I do know that if an offender is on bail and is NOT adhering to any

of the conditions attached to that bail, is liable to arrest and committal awaiting trial.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Hi,

From what she was told the complaint was just that if he is in or wants to go into the pub while she is working he can not because of the conditions of his bail. Also she has just been told that the manager was going to pubwatch to have him barred but the next meeting isn't till new year.

No honest that is it, she was there yesterday to get her shifts to day went in & was told by her manager that HER manager had rang her & told her to sack her because of the complaint as I have said.

It just doesn't seem right.

is there a restraining order in place against her ex than means he can now no longer drink in his local?

Never assume anyone on the internet is who they say they are. Only rely on advice from insured professionals you have paid for!

Then raise a formal complaint, she has to know the exact nature of the complaint.

I smell a rat here, does her ex know of or have a friend/family member who knows of this manager?

As they say, it's not what but who you know.

I would contact CPS. give them the crime number for the case they will have the details of conditsions tell them whats gone on.

She is going to speak to her police support officer on Friday when he is next in,
