Hi there,

I'm not sure if anybody will be able to help me but

I recently signed up to see my Experian credit report and discovered a CCJ on there which I was aware of.

However, I set up a payment plan up in 2010 and payed the judgement over the space of a few months

and it is still showing on my report as owed rather than satisfied.

I can remember after the final payment I received a letter with an invoice

stating that the balance had been cleared but as this was 3 years ago I'm not sure if I will still have this evidence.

Is there anyway I could check why this has happened and get it rectified?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Martin

I cleared one of mine recently, you will need to apply to the court where the CCJ was issued and send evidence that it is paid up.

You should be able to get the evidence you need from whoever you paid.

You will need a Court Form N443 (Google N443 use hmctsformfinder, the form is free) and pay, I believe it is £15.

Form N443 can be used without evidence but it is harder to do.

You can also check the status of a CCJ at trust online, this service is £4 for each search as of Dec 13.

Thanks alienskumm for your quick reply. Nice to know I'm not the only one who's been in this position. I will try and find the letter out as I can't remember the company name to whom I paid. If not I'll just have to do it the hard way without evidence haha!! Thanks again

hope you were only paying the NAMED CLAIMANT.

its quite common

for the debt to be sold on

and the new owner pockets the money

as they [you] think they have you over a barrel to pay it.

but in all truth they pocket the money. and run.

if you use www.trustonline.org.uk

that will tell you the CCJ number

then you phone northantscourt

quote the number

and they should be able to tell you the claimants name.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thanks for the info dx. I have the CCJ reference number on my credit report. I'll get straight onto phoning the court tomorrow. If it is the case that they've took the money and ran what should I do? will I have to pay again??
