Hi,

I have been on incapacity for a while, for depression and back problems.

I have been doing some voluntary work, and tentatively looking for work to get back "out there".

Well, I have now been offered a job!

I think I am well enough to do it, its not physically demanding so will not affect my back

and I think my depression might be less if i had a reason to get up everyday!

But how do I get off incapacity benefit?

Do I just ring them and say I have a job?

And what happens about getting a P45?

I will not be financially better off, but I would rather be working and boost my confidence and self esteem. Help!!

hey great news

don't forget

there might be other benefits that might apply!

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Yes. Working Tax Credit may apply if Misswoo is over 25 and works more than 30 hours per week. The 30 hour requirement is reduced to 16 hours for those entitled to some types of DLA/PIP.

Housing Benefit (for those who pay rent) and Council Tax Reduction may also be available to those on a low income, regardless of whether or not they are working.

Antone - isn't there something about coming off IB and WTC?

I'd forgotten about that, but you're right. The information sheet can be found here.

Basically you can get WTC if you have a disability listed in section 2 of that sheet and you have recently come off IB (or another qualifying benefit listed in section 3.)
