Im pretty scared right now and really need some solid information. Ill try to be as concise as possible.

the problem is that though being a student is OK, any additional income, even in the form of grants and loans needs to be declared - some is disregarded, but some is taken into account. I would say it is far better to be honest and come clean about your mistake now. You may end up with an overpayment, but this would usually be taken out of your ESA at a weekly rate, that can be negotiated if you are in hardship. If you don't come clean and the DWP find out by other means you could be facing an interview under caution and accusations of fraud, even if was only an honest mistake.


Maybe for the future get some advice from student services about how different grants and loans affect your benefits.
