Hello

Does anyone have anysuggestions for contacting Scottish Power?

I moved into a new house that they provided atthe start of June

- attempted to try and call them to give meter readings without success, being kept on hold,

so waited a couple of weeks until my landline was installed so it would cost me less.

Several attempts later, being kept on hold for over half an hour at a time and being passed between sales, new accounts and meter readings

whenever I did get through to someone I gave up and proceeded to start a switch to EON

- which I had always intended to do as I was with them at my previous house.

They have now switched my electric over to them but SP have stopped the gas switch

- need to contact SP to sort out but several hours on hold, being passed between departments I am still no nearer.

After being on hoild nearly an hour on Friday I decided to send an email instead explaining the situation

- auto-response said I would get a reply in 72 hours - 144 hours later I am still waiting!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I use SP and have an online account for readings and paperless bills which are cheaper.

I have to speak as I find and after 10 years with SP I can honestly say I've had no issues and pay less than anyone I know with a similar house for gas and electric.

It's the nature of cag that we see the complaints but this is my experience of them.

I would say that goes for most companies, we only see the small amount of complaints, not the majority of those with no complaint.

  • 1 month later...

Despite the initial positive response from 'Gerry', 6weeks later I am no nearer getting rid of Scottish power out of my life.I have now been able to switch my gas but despite giving them accurate meter readings for both electric and gas they sent estimated bills for both, after 4 emails sent without response they said they would resend them, as per the correct readings. Received the gas one straight away, over 2 weeks later am still waiting for the electric. Sent 3 more emails overthe last week and not one response. Got home Friday to find they have referred us to a debt collection company for non-payment over the over-charged bill with a £22 admin charge added on. I have been doing my best to get this resolved for 6weeks now, the only other thing I could have been to conclude it sooner would have been to pay the over-charged bills, which I am in now way prepared to do and am now even more lost as to where to go - all I want are 2 correct bills that I can pay at the same time and forget this awful company even exist!!

Contact the dca and tell them that the account is in dispute. Tell them you've tried to resolve it but are waiting on Scottish power.
