hi I have just received my dla award low rate mobility and middle rate care,someone told me when the new universal credits come in they are stopping low rate mobility is this true ,also do I have to inform housing that I get dla,and will it affect my housing benifit

I think its a good idea to inform the housing you are getting any new benefit.

DLA isn't part of UC. You will be invited to apply for PIP from 2015 onwards and once that assessment has been done your DLA will end.

If you receive any benefit you need to let them know about the DLA award. It shouldn't have a negative effect on anything but its best to notify them

Low mobility will exist in PIP. Low care won't.

hi someone just told me dla will change to pip October 2013 and I could get accessed then

It depends how long your award is for. Those on a fixed award will be assessed around the time their DLA award is about to end. Those of us on indefinite awards will be concentrated from October 2015.

There No such thing as awarded Indefinite any more !

 

Sometime in the future your DLA will stop and you will be invited to claim PIP,under PIP you will have regular reviews and medicals....

 

And yes you Must declare any income including DLA to your local housing benefit department,but it wont affect your HB...
