Bless...:-)

Thank you, perhaps those who criticize their surroundings should switch on the news and see what is going on elsewhere in the world,

Personally I can think of nowhere else I would rather be.

just have, its a hard days night :)

Two of my favourites.....Lucy in the sky with diamonds and strawberry fields forever :-)

Also, car boot sales, Stone Henge, Glastonbury, clotted cream (loved that when I visited my Aunt and Uncle as a child), a good strong cup of tea, afternoon tea with sandwiches, carry on films, vintage car shows, the Grand National and Ascot, Wimbledon.....

Life is like an echo, it all returns......The good, the bad, the false, the true......So if you give life the best you have, the best will come back to you.

Yes, I love all of those too but I can't afford to do most of them any more because of the exorbitant cost of living. :-(

It's mostly the same all over at the moment I think, the prices seem to get higher every day! Buy a cucumber, a loaf of bread, make some sandwiches, and make some scones or sponge cake, a flask of tea or coffee, and a blanket - and go sit somewhere in the quiet, under a tree if possible, you'd be surprised how much you'll enjoy it! We did it yesterday up at the Cow and Calf :-)

My friend has just moved there BobCat, she loves it! We're going to visit her at Christmas or new year so I shall be bringing some clotted cream back with me lol!

you are so Lucky Nystagmite, we are on Homeswapper and several other exchange sites trying to get our dream! They keep saying where I live is a sought after area, if that is true where is the queue for my house!

Yes Cornwall is beautiful as are the Lakes, when you get the weather. I think many of us would holiday in this country , but the sad fact is that it is far cheaper to go abroad, how much would it cost for a four star equivalent hotel over here to what is available on the Costa's for instance, you are talking £200 a night peak season over here, no comparison.

  • 3 weeks later...
Yeah. So, there is a positive to living in the arse end of nowhere, miles away from most major cities.

I really don't think I could live close to a city anymore! I've never acutally lived IN one, but have lived close enough that we could walk there, never again!

The noise for a start, police cars etc, music coming out of shops, people walking round with their faces tripping them! And all the exhaust fumes :!:

Life is like an echo, it all returns......The good, the bad, the false, the true......So if you give life the best you have, the best will come back to you.

My friend is privately renting because she couldn't get an exchange, she loves it there so much! She lived there before, and moved back up north, and regretted it the moment she did it!

Saying that, she did move to a bit of an undesirable part of the north, I won't say as I don't want to offend anyone, I'm a northern girl myself, and I love the North, it's just this one area :/

Have you been on those UK exchange forums?

If ever I wanted to do an exchange to a different part of the country that would be my first port of call!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it up here though, perhaps a moderator would be able to let me know? :)
