MMF are trying to collect on 2 accounts, both Payday loans. I have sent several requests to MMF asking for proof of my liability to the alleged debt plus a full breakdown. MMF have continued to ignore my requests and have continued to send emails and letters with their usual threats of court and doorstep collection.

I sent a recorded letter on Monday 26th November and was received and signed for by MMF on Tuesday 27th November telling MMF that ALL Communication MUST BE IN WRITTING by post, and no telephone, e-mail or text contact will be tolerated, Furthermore I expressly state that I have no wish to make any appointment for any agent, representative or employee of MMF Ltd to visit my home, should such a visit occur the person will be invited to leave failure to do so and will result in their removal using any necessary means. I have requested a full explanation and proof of my liability for this alleged debt along with a full breakdown of the alleged debt and MMF have failed to provide any data in this regard; therefore I do not acknowledge any debt to MMF Ltd., or any company you may claim to represent.

I have also sent an email to Baranby Page & home visits with the same information which has been read...

Fast forward to this morning whilst in the shower I heard a knock at the door and Ignored it. Through my letter box was 2x letters from MMF, hand delivered. The leter states "I have now been instructed to visit your property to discuss repayment. I am your local MMF Doorstep Agent and although disappointed that I could not meet you today, I am constantly in your area and a revisit can be booked.

Why are these people ignoring me?

Same. I've sent an email to the OFT regarding MMF telling my colleagues at work that I should expect a home or workplace visit shortly. My manager was ready to explode when he heard the grief I'd been having with them.

I have just been looking at my credit file and Motormile have described a default entry as a Mail Order debt,

The default has nothing to do with Mail Order

Hi renegadeimp, thank you for your reply.

As far as I'm aware MMF have a responsibility to record accurate information with the Credit Reference Agencies. I feel a complaint to the ICO coming on.

MMF are doing this to hundreds, if not thousands pf people. What is needed is a mass complaint.

It would be interesting to know why the cheeky monkeys are describing Pay Day loan debts as Mail Order debts ....

They had a mass of registering defaults as mail order dated december 2012

Some of the defaults were originally 2008/2009

Seems they are registering the un-defaulted accounts when they are assigned the accounts, to prolong the life of the account as to the statute of limitations??

No idea why they have been all registered as mail order accounts though

The default date that they have added is correct, the amount that they have entered is incorrect as the default sum included charges & fees. Also the default has been registered as a Mail Order debt which is also incorrect.....

This must be reported to the ICO and the OFT registering false data is well out of order.

Try this:

For the Personal Attention of.

Mr. Robert Sands,

Director of Compliance

MMF Ltd.

Ref: use theirs.

Dear Mr Sands.

Complaint To ICO incorrect and misleading data on credit files.

I have recently checked my credit reference files held by xxxxxxxxxx credit reference agency a copy of the file is attached for information.

I do not acknowledge any liability to MMF Ltd for any such alleged debt:

The amounts claimed by MMF Ltd are it seems calculated by someone with a vivid imagination and are totally a work of fiction.

Furthermore I am totally unaware of any MAIL ORDER ACCOUNT with MMF Ltd or any other company, therefore MMF Ltd should now cease all attempts to pursue this imaginary account, and remove all data regarding me from its records.

This gross manipulation of credit file data is now subject of formal complaints to the relevant regulators.

A recent article advised that those who have entered into PDL agreements are being penalised by mainstream lenders whether or not the PDL has been repaid on time.

So I would think having a default record for a Mail order debt rather than a PDL debt might be less problematical in the future.

However, having said that, ALL companies have a duty to record accurately..

Wouldnt a default be treated the same though, regardless of the type of debt?

Update

I have received a response from MMF today..

Dear drob

With reference to your letter dated 28 June 2013, regarding your account with us.

I understand from your letter that you have recently viewed your credit file and are unsure what the default we have registered is referring to.

For clarity, the above reference relates to a loan that was originally issued to you by QuickQuid in February 2010 and we purchased the debt in June 2011. We therefore legally own the outstanding debt. As the debt has been in default since 2012, we cannot remove this information from your credit file as the information is accurate.

Love

Barry Ellershaw

1. I didn't address my original letter to Barry Ellershaw it was addressed to Robert Sands.

2. MMF have confirmed that the debt is for a loan

3. MMF are under some delusion that the information that they have recorded on my credit file is accurate

So now I have received a farcical response from MMF It's is time to make a complaint to the ICO?

MMF ignore everyone. They have complete contempt for pretty much everything. All they care about is money. Nothing else.

Pathetic response!!

Dear Mr Ellershaw,

I am in receipt of your rather banal letter dated xx xx xxxx in reply to my letter addressed to Mr Sands, it is most disrespectful of MMF Ltd and Mr Sands to pass a communication addressed to company director to a minor functionary of the company who clearly has ignored the most pertinent points of my letter.

I still require a full explanation as to why this alleged debt is being listed as 'As a MAIL ORDER ACCOUNT' especially now that you Mr Ellershaw have clearly stated that the the alleged debt relates to a LOAN ACCOUNT.

MMF Ltd have also conveniently avoided addressing the fact that the amount being claimed is incorrect.

I now expect MMF Ltd to fully respond to the matters set out with in 7 days.

If the recipient of this letter is not a person competent or authorised to deal with this matter is must be passed immediately to a company officer competent and authorised to make a decisions and answer the questions asked.

Copies of all correspondence relating to this matter are now included in a formal complaint regarding the conduct of MMF Ltd to the OFT. ICO/FCA.

Ok drob,

I really cannot understand such base incompetence and disregard for business ethics displayed by the company, if you could post copies of the correspondence in the MMF Complaints thread and copy them by e-mail to ims21 on the e-mail address shown on that thread I would be most grateful.
