I had a combi boiler system put in through the warm front scheme four & half years ago,

I am registered disabled & my boiler broke 4 weeks ago but I can find any help anywhere

as local plumbers will not touch it because it is an ideal combi boiler system installed through the Warm Front scheme

who ceased in January this year but

my system is under 5 years old so I don't qualify for any of the new schemes.

I have a daughter we have had no heating or running hot water for the last 4 weeks

my disability causes loss of feeling from the waist down which means I do require constant baths or showers

please could anybody help me with this as I have run out of options now

& do not have available funds to pay for a new system because of constant bank & mortgage charges.

My life is at a very desperate situation at this moment in time.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi don't think I able to give you any assistance with this matter

but I had one fitted through the warm front scheme,

(not sure of the make) in one of the houses I rent out.

It didn't even last 2 years,

the plumber who fitted it was no use nor were home front.

I had a lot going on at the time & just ended up getting my plumber to replace it.

You could try trading standards I did ring them when I was all fired up one day & they said they would expect it to reasonably last 5-6 years.

Maybe check with your council to see if there is another similar scheme as one seems to have just started in my area.

Thank you for your reply, I have been trying all over to get this sorted

but it seems the new schemes mean require the boiler to be over 5 years old,

its very frustrating but

on a positive note it is saving me a fortune on my prepayment meters as I was putting about £10 a day in the meters which was crippling me

although being without running hot water is proving difficult

.But than you for your advice.

Regards Lynette.

Wonder if you could apply under the having no heating tick box.

Hi Lynette,

Given your circumstances, could you contact Social Services to tell them of the broken boiler.

Confirm you're registered disabled and you have your daughter but you have no hot water in the property.

Even if they cannot offer direct assistance, they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Sorry I can't offer better advice but I wish you well in getting this sorted.

:-)

We could do with some help from you

Hi

Sorry for your circumstances at present now have you contacted your energy provider and asked to be put on the "Priority Service Register" and while your at it ask them if you can apply for the Warm Home Discount you never know you may be entitled.

You should also ask your energy provider if they have any boiler replacement/grant schemes in place as some do but not all but still worth asking.

Lynette, it is noticed in your first post that you are having some issues with mortgage and bank charges. Would you like to start a separate thread regarding those as it is my understanding that at least some of the mortgage charges can be reclaimed. Once you have done that, I will post up some draft letters for you and have others pop in to help you through the process of reclaiming.

Click on the link below and then on the "post new thread" button that you will see to the left of the screen :)
