    • Hi all,   I just wanted to give you an update and ask for further advice.   The car has been taken to a local garage today and we have been sent a video (just a close up of the engine with the broken pipe) of the suspected issue which they have said is an air flow pipe which has broken. He said it wasn’t broken when the car was sold to us and so he will buy the part & we pay for the labour.   We really feel that he should pay for this entirely, I also don’t want to set a precedent by paying for the labour if things deteriorate further with this car.  He also hasn’t stated how much the labour is, something we will ask when we respond to his message.   How do you think we should proceed?  I don’t want to take the wrong approach now.
    • Hi can I ask about these letters received from this company... I have received information from friends who ignore them  I am worried I just received a letter after parking in Livingston center one week night (31/8). I did not notice any sign stating limited time.  They are looking for £50. I don't want any hassles but does this legally stand in Scotland and also its took 21 days for the letter to arrive (22/9) Any advice would be appreciated  Thanks in advance
    • Probate isn't cleared funds and I can confirm it's taking much longer than usual.  Even a simple bank account can take over a month and NS&I are taking around three months to release funds to executors.   I've only just paid out on the will of my aunt who died on 2nd March and I held an LPA for her so knew exactly what was where and the financial institutions already knew my identity.
    • I've had a quick look at the Internet and they reckon that even for a simple will it could take nine months to 12 months for everything to be organised and funds to be distributed. So you may be a little bit early. Why don't you contact the executor very gently and ask them how is it going and when did they think it might be finished. Maybe it will help if you express some appreciation for the task that they've taken on – because it can be quite complicated
    • Yes of course you can oblige her to give you the money. I'm not quite sure what cause of action you would need to rely on if you had to go to court. In terms of how much you are entitled to receive if there is not enough to go around everybody, I would have thought that it would be allocated in proportion – but I'm really not sufficiently sure of my ground to say for certain. Maybe somebody else will come along and give more precise advice – and maybe the answer will occur to me through the day

    • I’m in desperate need of help

I bought some clothes online in may through Evans and paid through PayPal
returned them all seven days later

I waited the 14days for my refund and no refund came
I put in a dispute through PayPal but I didn’t get any emails to escalate the case - PayPal closed it.
evans said they couldn’t refund the money because PayPal have cancelled the refund because of the open dispute

      I contacted PayPal
they said the dispute had been closed but Evans at no point had attempted a refund.
      fast forward to today

I’ve got copies of numerous messages sent to and from twitter messages as it’s the only way I can contact them
I’ve also contacted their customer service too
all I get is PayPal have cancelled refund because dispute is still open.

I have proved that the dispute is closed
I have got an email saying that if Evans sent the refund they would accept it
but up until the date I got the email they have not once attempted a refund .

I have sent them a letter before court email
I have even offered to have the full refund as a gift card just to get this sorted !

I’m literally at the end of my tether and don’t know where to turn next !

i suffer with mental health issues and this is affecting my health and I’d saved the money for a year to buy these clothes as I’m on a low income .

:p Hi Tracey!! :p

Let the BATTLE BEGIN indeed!!!:D I just checked on the royal mail website and the second SAR was delivered already.I guess that we will receive another confirmation letter in a day or so.The clock is ticking..........

The trouble is just that I am not very good when it comes to patience and these waiting times will do my head in badly and our postman is gonna get fed up with me.....

We are also going to send off the SAR's to capital one & Halifax Credit Card Services!!!Oh yes they are all gonna have a battle on their hands as I may be impatient but i am very stubborn too :D

Could you maybe plz tell me what it means that ollibear has merged our threads??

All the best for now and i will keep you all updated all the way!!!

Hi Trish

I think Oliie means you must of had more than 1 message thingy on here so he has put them together, so you can find easily.

Like you i dont have a lot of patience as i am in the middle of giving up smoking too, (natwest took mi money again so cant afford to smoke)

A little story my son told me years ago hes now 21

Mummy someone told me banks have branches, does that mean.... tree branches have leaves that fall off in the autumn on to the road and grass and bank branches ..have money that falls off instead of leaves.

Then he asked but where does the banks branches money fall to?

son i said one day the banks branches are going to shred there money and im going to catch it

Looking back i guess what i said then was a sign

Hi there

this is my first post as I find it hard to use the site.I am scared to death!! I have just posted my prelim approach letter for nearly 4k off Nat West. You seem up to speed on everything and would love some help on what to expect next. Mine has got up to 4k because they wouldnt move a loan payment by 1 day and charged me £38 monthly for the money being a day late which didnt leave enough for the payment and so on.

Hi Tony Fox!

All I can say is that I was scared to death too!!Dont worry too much though because on here you will find plenty of help from really nice people. What I was told to do first was read all the FAQ'S as in there you will find all or most of the info you will need.If at any time you do struggle just ask and someone will help you along the way. What deller1 told me was hold your nerve all the way as you need to remeber that it's your money we are talking about here. Also everybody will tell you that the bank's will try and fob you off with scary letters.HOLD out as this seems common practice.Try and read as much as you can as it will all help and prepare you.

So stay strong it's your money!!

Tracy!!!

I hate the waiting......

Many kind regards Trish

  HI All!

Plz could someone help me on this ??

We received a letter back from NW and our cheque that we had sent them with regards to the Advantage gold acc was returned to us saying that the additional £ 10 are being returned to us and she will have the statements sent directly to us.The payment that we had sent was for NW Credit Card and a totally different acc. nb.

So £10 for 2 acc. Is that like buy one get one free ;-) or have they not noticed the different acc nb's???

I would be very gratefull for any input!!

All the best to ALL!!

One £10 will suffice for more than one account with the same bank.:D

Afaik Secure Homes are one of those companies that you pay a fee to and they pay all your bills for you OneBill Account SecureHomes, One Bill Account Secure Trust Bank PLC. Increasing debt as you go along. Charities like the CCCS will be able to help with things like this if someone is struggling to pay bills/debt etc.

If you think that SH are acting unlawfully or harassing anyone in any way you can get your local Trading Standards Office involved.

You'n'me both, Trish.

I'm going down the Fast Track route (it's over £5K) but don't let me influence you!:-)

But by all means have a look at my thread Big Total Claim - Should I Split Or Go Fast Track?

(Which I hope links properly!)

There are a few helpful comments and suggestions there.

Keep me posted, and I'll do the same for you, if you like.
