Hi

In may of 2012 my AOL contract terminated and i did not wish to continue using their service

when the i inial contract was taken out in 2006 my uncle was the account holder until 2009 when it was transferred into my name and i was paying for it.

My uncle has now discoverd to his disgrace that AOL have been taking £4.00 amonth from his account for the past 9months

even though the contract was cancelled over a year ago and was in my name.

This is for a AoL premium rate service that neither me or my uncle authorised them to take or even signed up for.

Isnt this stealing?

It would seem after going to the bank that AOL have set up a DD on his account without his knowledge

or permisson as the service has been cancelled simce last may!

All bills and fees where up to date and paid. DD was canceled on the spot.

My uncle however isnt one for worrying about it as its only £4 a month but its besides the point.

Is there anything i can do to help recover moneis they have taken/ stole from him and claim compensation?

Why would i need to do?

As this is really made me angry at the cheeck of it.

Any advice will be welcomed and appreciated :)

Regards

Alison

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Get your uncle to write a letter to his bank that he give you permission to deal with his account so you can get bank statement and go through them and same for AOL write a letter to them giving you permission to deal with his account and both of you need to sign the letter!

I wouldnt bothe with the above - follow dx's advice and your uncle can contact his bank and ask to do an indemnity claim for all the £4 payments
