Just signed up with Noddle and there are a few debt collections agencies appearing on my report. Thing is, I've not received any post for a long time now from an agency, probably due to them having an old address.

How can I find out which creditor the debt company have bought it from?

I was very bad with borrowing when I was younger, and plus I have a bad memory so really have no idea!

You might need to look at one of the other CRAs such as Experian or Equifax. It is my understanding that Noddle is just a summary of the other CRAs data.

You should have received Notices of Assignment if the debts have been purchased (assigned).

What DCAs are they, these companies pretty much link to a specific bank/creditor.

I haven't received notices, but as I said in my original post, this is probably because they are sending them to the wrong address. Most of my debts will be from pre 2008, and I moved out of that house in 2008.

Agencies are:

Lowell x2

Arrow Global x2

Capquest Investments

1st Credit Ltd (this is paid, but I can't remember who the debt was for and I am interested to know)

If I call them and say they have appeared on my report and I have no idea who they are, will the default date be reset and the 6 year clock start again?

I won't admit the debts.

I will just say you have appeared on my report, and I have no idea why, They will say we bought a debt from Barclays (or something) then i can still say still no idea why..

I can't access Experian as I used up my free 30 days a few years back. I have been a customer of Equifax for a few years, paying £6.99 a month. Only yesterday I decided to check Noddle and realised that they have a lot more info on me! So I have been paying Equifax £6.99 a month for only some information where I can get it ALL from Noddle for free!

I will be requesting SAR's from all my current and previous creditors so i will be checking them all anyway.

All references to a defaulted debt must be removed from your credit files after 6 years has passed from date of default,

whether paid off or not.

This is so that someone who continues paying something even after 6 years from default should not be at a disadvantage

to someone who pays nothing after default and ends up with a clean file after 6 years.

Nothing is older than 6 years. The oldest 1 is November 2007.

the rest will follow as 6yrs passes.

if you have all your old cra files

surely you can match them?

why do you need to do this?

you need a clear file?

Latest unpaid defaulted account is Jan 2010

Latest paid defaulted account is Sept 2011

I am trying to match them using the figures on my open accounts and the figures on my closed accounts. I am assuming that if an account is open with a debt agency, then it would be closed with the original creditor but unfortunately the figures don't match up.

Yes i would like a clear file. And i don't think I can wait until September 2017! Just not sure how to get around it :-(
