Hi all,

My wife is in the process of entering a DMP with Payplan. She has just received a letter today from Payplan asking her to pop into the HSBC (which she has a overdraft & credit card to be included in the DMP) and give an up to date signature and sign some paper work.

Is this normal, any advice please.

Gericke

I wouldnt sign anything!

If it was me i would sent a CCA request.

I think they have something to hide.

Have you reclaimed charges and ppi?

Not unusual signatures vary over the years and this is as much for your security as anyyhing else.

Any Letters I Draft are N0T approved by CAG and no personal liability is accepted.

This for a DMP not to contest the debt!!

I would advise that your wife doesnt just blindly sign paperwork. If necessary, ask to bring it away so it can be read and understood properly !!

And you want copies of everything !!

As for the PPI issue, my wife phoned them up to inform them of her situation and ask if she had had any loans over the years with PPI. The adviser sheepishly said yes, you have had 5 loans with PPI. So we are currently chasing this up.

So a sample signature is OK, but read carefully any paper work which they require signing.

I wouldnt give them a new signature. Not til you know what they are going to use it for. If they have no cca they can inprint it onto a copy

Yes, I see no reason to not give them a sample signature, but only once you know what it is for.

Have you been provided with all the documents regarding the PPI in order that you can make a reclaim if these were mis sold ?

I have just noticed this is HSBC - when did she enter into the agreement with the credit card ?
