Ask yourself why savings are being made out of the welfare budget. The official statistics show 90% of government savings are against welfare, why.

Maybe because Welfare accounts for the largest proportion of money spent? Besides which if more were working and less were claiming benefits, more money would be rolling into the government's bank account in tax and NIC.

Employees working in private industry also are paid expenses. Why just pick on MP's? If the large expense accounts were removed from senior employees, the price that the public would pay for their product would be cheaper - British Gas as an example.

MP's deserve to be picked on as they are the biggest scroungers going and the biggest burden on the tax payer!

Actually pensions account for the largest percentage of welfare, so where does that leave you?

EDIT

I cannot understand why I'm entertaining this Muppet.

Don't be silly! For what they are paid it is peanuts compared to the directors of the majority of large companies!

A quick answer? I have bought into my pension having worked for 44 years with no period of unemployment and probably no more than 9 months off sick in that 44 years!

Without answering this troll directly, many people currently claiming JSA for example paid into the system for years, and are rightfully recouping a small percentage of their investment.

There is no comparison to any other benefit when looking at the State Pension other than contributory JSA & ESA. For a start the State Retirement Pension is not a benefit, never has been and never will - it is an insurance. The intention of the SRP was to 'insure' people once they reached a certain age. It is based on 'premiums' paid (years of contributions). The nearest and closest you can get to what the SRP is, is a simple insurance policy.

You get a payout out starting on a given date that is based entirely on what you have paid in. Contributory JSA has a maximum payout of 6 months, ESA is 12 months unless you receive the Support Group premium, whereas the SRP is for the term of life.

There is no 'investment' about it.
