Hi Lee.

Welcome to the family.

Make your first task, a good read of the FAQs. A few days spent on that will answer most of your questions, and will stand you in good stead when you start your claim.

Good luck.

From the letter templates library.

You will find all sorts of goodies when you read the FAQs.

It is most important that you fully understand what you are doing.

You are about to take a major financial institution to court. They have unlimited finances and a large legal department staffed by very able lawyers. Step wrongly and they will chew you up and spit out the bones!

Follow the well-tried and tested methods advocated on tis site and you will succeed. If you ad-lib or try to run before you can walk, you may well find that the results are not what you expected.

This is a self-help forum and you must be prepared to do your own homework.

Please read the FAQs.

Hi Everyone, I'm new as well

I stumbled upon this website when I was looking into the massive redemption penalty I will have to pay when moving.

I have a mortgage with Abbey and they are asking me to pay £10,000 to get out of it. I have a two year tie in with them that lasts till 21st Jan next year, but cannot wait to move till then as I will lose the house I want, and lose the buyer that I have for mine.

Is this a legal charge, it seems that if I pay November, December and Jan's mortgage that will be £3900, and then there will be no penalties to pay, but if I leave before the 21st Jan I owe £10,000 for their loss of my finishing the tie in period, this does not make sense to me, can anyone advise me here?

Thanks
