Have had the letter saying I will receive the ESA50 form soon. Any info appreciated as worried. My disabilities are mental rather than physical. I've heard mention of recent new criteria for ESA new descriptors etc is that right? can i source them anywhere? will there be adequate questions asked re mental health? any info appreciated

Hello there.

I think a read around the forum should give you some pointers. There are forum stickies about filling in an ESA50 form, having an Atos assessment and so on. We don't have guidance for an ESA50 for mental health though, but I think a couple of people here know where there is guidance on that.

A minor point please, are you currently on Income Support?

There should be stuff on Mind about filling the ESA form in.

Hello there. :) I couldn't find anything on the Mind site, but I did find this on the Herts County Council website when I googled ESA50 and mental health. It seems to give some good pointers.

:daveydavey:

There's a list of the latest (01/13) employment n support allowance descriptors towards the end of:

http://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/f31.htm

And Rethink's site has a guide to completing the (pre 01/13) ESA50.

Not yet found a freely available and completely up to date guide.

Sincerely, Margaret.
