It has emerged that Excel Parking, currently serving a minimum three-month ban on obtaining drivers’ details from the DVLA, has been suspended twice before.

The Sheffield parking company is unable to issue ‘fines’ from camera-controlled car parks after the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency ruled its signs breached a code of practice.

The ban, which ends tomorrow, is its third. Excel was also suspended for three months in 2007 and again in 2009 for ‘non-compliance’.

Campaigner Nev Metson, a retired police officer, said: “How much leeway is the DVLA prepared to give before taking meaningful action?”

And the DVLA does nothing

And the BPA does nothing (no surprises there)

And they try to tell us that POPLA is independent!!!

Oh how we laughed.

Of course it's just a coincidence that the owner of Excel is a prominent member of the BPA. This same organization said there was nothing wrong with the signage in an Excel car-park, even though a judge ruled that it was completely inadequate.
