I have a court debt that i forgot to pay.

stupid of me i know.

i just had someone on my door step hand me a letter saying i now owe 365 pounds.

I said i would have to pay in installments and he said it would be 25.00 a week.

I said i could not afford that i could pay something smaller each week.

and he said i can do voluntary payments but they would still come

and remove my goods within 7 days..

Is this allowed?

as it has come from the court it is a bailiff and not a debt collector

For a court fine there is right of entry for the bailiffs

there will be bailiff fees added on for the letter they handed you

are you working at the moment

If i have helped in any way hit my star.

any advice given is based on experience and learnt from this site :-)

moved and renamed

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

How long ago was the original hearing? Did you know about it? Did you attend Court? Are you still living at the same address where the offence was committed? Did you receive a Further Steps Notice prior to the Bailiff calling?

hi i did not attend court i just filled in a form... i think it was about 2 months before xmas. i have not had any other letter of them just the one handed to me last night. i called them today to see if there is anyway i can make a payment without a bank card as i'm still waiting on mine. they said there is a barcode i can use on the letter.. there is no bar code at all so they are making it difficult for me to make payment so now i have to wait for them to send me a barcode
