Tesco mobile- I want paper bill-they say I must pay by DD?

Hi all, Ive had a contract pay monthly mobile with Tesco for a year now and have always paid by DD but a of recently with problems including debt and having to get my tax credits etc paid by giro now I wish to pay by payment slip..theyve just told me I cant??!!

Obviously Im thinking theyre reckoning me for a muppet so I wanted to ask those in the know what the crack is with this?? Surely I can pay how I like as long as I pay??

Basically I will have a new bank account at some point but Im trying to get out of the fee-charging cycle for missing DDs and such so really want to be clear of any 'debits' from my money unless Im physically doing it with hard cash iyswim?

Have you had a read of their terms and conditions - what does it say?

 

I dont think they can force you to pay by direct debit, but I will ask others on the site team.

You can pay your bill with a credit card, debit card or by Direct Debit. To make a payment or if you'd like to change the way you pay your bill you can login to your account

Are they sending you a statement every month and is there a payment slip attached to the bottom ?

 

Or had you elected to have paperless billing ?

I paid mine's by D/D until I missed one then paid every month by card, now set up a new D/D.
