Hi all,

 

So I'm like many of you,

 

I'm being hounded by letters from iQor and at the moment GPB Solicitors saying that I need to pay up for a debt from my Paypal Premium account that was closed before all of this arose.

 

The debt is for around £2500, which is has been swindled from me - I'm not too sure what has happened because my account was closed

before I could find out what Paypal/eBay had against my auction.

 

At the moment I'm just ignoring their letters,

 

should I carry on this way in the hope that they finally give up?

 

Or should I actively be doing something about this because they do actually have some power against me?

Hi welcome to CAG,

 

Please give us as much detail as to how this has arisen it will be easier to advise.

They could issue a County Court claim. If you have letter regarding this please

remove personal data and account numbers and post up here.

Are you saying that you had a Paypal account which you then closed and subsequent to that a fraud was practised upon the account which has left it £2.5k down?

 

Why did you close the account and how long after you closed it did the fraud take place?

 

Is there no doubt that you did not access the account or make purchases against it accidentally using a preregistered paypal payment system that you had forgotten about?

 

When you say that the money has been swindled from you, - why do you say that if you have nothing to do with it?

 

Have you had any communication at all with the swindler?

scan the required letters/agreements/sheets - as a picture[jpg] file

don't forget you can use a mobile phone or a digital camera too!!

BUT......

ENSURE: remove all pers info inc. barcodes etc using paint program

but leave all figures and dates. {DO NOT USE A BIRO OR PEN OR USE SEE THRU TAPE OR LABELS]

DO NOT USE ANY PDF EDITOR TO BLANK STUFF, THAT CAN BE REMOVED

DO IT IN PAINT.EXE or any photo editing program

convert existing PC files to PDF [office has an installable print to PDF option]

goto one of the many free online pdf converter websites [http://docupub.com/pdfconvert/]

it would be better to upload a multipage pdf if

you have many images too rather than many single pdfs

or if you have PDF as an installed printer drive use that

or use word and save as pdf

try and logically name your file so people know what it is.

i'e Default notice dd-mm-yyyy

open a new msg box here

hit go advanced below the msg box

hit manage attachments below that box

hit the add files button on the top right

hit select files, navigate to your file on your pc

hit upload files

Thanks for all your speedy replied everyone, I'm quite cautious as to what information I divulge incase it is seen by any of the vultures that are chasing me!

Paypal reversed my payment for an item I sold on eBay in August 2012 sometime, the item transaction went through fine. But I have still been put into negative. iQor first wrote to me saying that I had this withstanding debt that needed to be paid and that if I didn't they would issue involvement from solicitors. So now, GPB have sent me a letters saying the same thing as one of you have said and that they MAY issue a County Court Claim. Can they actually do this with how shady Paypals Terms and Conditions are?

What reason was given for the payment reversal?

Yes they could issue a CC claim but would have to give all the answers as to how and why they took this action.

This is my problem, I don't know why they reversed the payment because my account is now closed.

What would you suggest I do please? How likely is it that they are going to issue a County Court Claim when they haven't heard a whisper from me? Am I doing more harm than good by ignoring them?

Not anywhere near that yet So,

 

I suggest a subject access request to Paypal, this requires them to provide all data they hold on you and the account, there is a£10 statutory fee to pay and Paypal have 40 days to comply, use the template from the CAG library for this, address to the Data Controller at PP.

I'm really sorry to keep bombarding you with questions, but if it turns out that Paypal have a 'legitimate' reason...does that concrete iQor and GPB's threats? Because if so, I'm 15 days past their deadline for full payment and therefore they should be issuing me with a CC claim

Emmm cannot speculate on that,but even if they issue a claim, my thoughts are that you would have known by now.
