Hi there , looking for some help :-(

The story goes...

Basically i had to run into my inlaws house yesterday to pick up my daughter, it was -3 degrees outside and she's only three months old so i didnt want to walk in these freezing conditions with a newborn for a large distance, i parked on a shop forecourt across the road , it was after six at night and the shop was closed so i didnt think i was doing any harm, i did see parking warning signs but i stupidly assumed that they were for during shop opening hours, which would seem reasonable.

Anyway, i was in less than ten minutes and came out to this stuck to my car,

(Edit, no images allowed due to me being new member, basically a hand written ticket from a company called Express tickets ltd, based in Blackpool)

Basically they want £150 for me parking for less than ten minutes in a space that wasn't likely to be used anyway and was causing no person any harm, ironically i'd have got less for parking on the double yellows outside! Personally i think it's rediculous and bordering on extortion :-(

What's my options or is it just a case of i must pay?

Can they easily obtain my details from dvla?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks, Gary.

Does it say "parking charge". If so, ignore it. It's a speculative invoice.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If you want, you can write a short letter to the shops head office explaining what has happened and demand that they get the idiots who issued the ticket, to revoke it. I'm pretty sure once they hear your explanation they will. Remember, its their reputation on the line if you or the PCC tries to take it to court.

Yep, PARKING CHARGE NOTICE, so just ignore it then? Happy days :)

You will receive begging letters asking for your money even some with red ink to scare you

then the threat of a solicitors letter or debt collector than all should be calm once they give up

Dont bother to contact them

If i have helped in any way hit my star.

any advice given is based on experience and learnt from this site :-)
