At last got another PARKING CHARGE NOTICE :whoo: for not displaying a valid ticket

You are meant to pay £1 in the machine and they refund it at the till so it is free had no change on me

The attendant was there when i got back to car I told him NOT to place anything on my vehicle "I have to as you entered a contract by driving into the car park":lol:

I have since phoned ASDA customer service.....there advice is to take things up with town and city parking as ASDA don't own the car park:!:

After asking ASDA is it not part of the planning permission to provide a car park and it would of been built as part of the store All they had to say is contact town and country parking

Told them i am looking forwards to a letter reminding me to pay followed by another letter begging for money followed by the threat of court then nothing.

It would appear that ASDA customer services have little ability dealing with customers as he hung up on me.

didn't get the chance to tell him i will shop at Tesco

Of course i will not pay and looking forwards to more begging letters

If i have helped in any way hit my star.

That old chestnut of "not owning the car-park" .It took three emails from me before ASDA admitted they owned the car parks in Retford and Grantham. At first they stated they the car parks were "owned by the council" and run by TCP. Complete nonsense of course, as it turned out they did own them.

I have just been looking at this. It appears that the store is located in Priestic Road. Looking at the council's car park website, there is no mention of any of their car parks being located in that street. The only ones I can find are Sutton Market, New Street and Stoney Street. Are Asda being "economical with the truth"? I think so but it would be very unusual for T&C to be in charge of a council car park.

You could do as I did. Just ring up the council and ask them if they do own that ASDA car park.

It is most defiantly Asda car park that they do not own as town and city parking own it

i wonder if ASDA rent the trolley bays back off T&C:-)

Going to play email tennis with ASDA

If i shop there again i wont put £1 in the machine to have it refunded at the till either

I doubt that T&C actually own the car-park. I don't think they own any car-parks. I think you will find that, yet again, ASDA are the actual owners.

perhaps a little note on Asda facebook page letting others know about not paying always helpful. Its amazing what big companies do to customers and expect loyalty from them

Maybe you should have gone in there and done a big shop and on getting a ticket, taken all the goods back and asked for a refund on all goods purchased! Hehehe!

I would have thought a better idea would be, to do a big trolley shop, put all the items on the converyer belt, wait for the till assistant to start scanning the items, then 'pretend' your are looking for your wallet/purse. Then say to the cashier ' I've left my wallet/purse in the car will just go and get it', then off you go never to return !!

But on a more serious note, I was given a 'parking charge notice' for £60 in an Asda carpark a couple of years ago as I had honestly forgotten to put a display ticket on the car. I went to the customer services and explained. She said telephone the manager of the store which I did when I got home. He gave me the number of their head office, and I explained the situation to them and they then Cancelled the 'ticket'. I would think all different stores tell customers different things. Its probably because the staff at the store don't really know the proper procedure to assist the customer, or they couldn't give a fig!!.

Having spoken to customer services today to obtain a email address as going to complain about how they handled the call yesterday

The lady i spoke to on the phone was a credit to ASDA

They have since said they can have this ticket Cancelled as ticket issued at 1330 but till receipt has 1328.35 seconds and the twit was there putting ticket on the car wile i put shopping in the boot

A few issues need answering who owns there car park yesterday it was T&C parking

Today ASDA or the council own the car parks think the truth is ASDA own there own car park

My point is part of there planning to build the store is to provide parking for there customers

why ASDA think they can treat there customers and expect them to return as many will just pay these

there is far more people that pay up rather than make a fuss

Time to hit back at the retailer if everyone done so they will listen to there customers one day

Got to make a example of asda £1 to park refunded at the till so there loss is the grand sum of nothing it is a real shame this will never go to court

Far more impressive is to do the same - and then halfway through say "I must go and move my car otherwise the warden will get me!"

Good Morning xxxx

Thank you for taking the time to contact Andy Clarke about your recent visit to our Sutton in Ashfield store. As part of Andy's Executive Relations Team, I'm available to respond to customers on his behalf.

I'm sorry you're unhappy with the service you've received after parking at our store. We have signs clearly located at the entrance and situated throughout all our car parks. These signs have the terms of use for each car park and on parking with us, customers agree to our terms of use. Any customers not adhering to these terms run the risk of receiving a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from the company we use to monitor the car park.

At our Sutton in Ashfield store the terms of use are a ticket needs to be purchased and then after a minimum spend is made we will refund the cost of the ticket. As a ticket wasn't purchased the colleague was correct in issuing the PCN. We advise any customers to address appeals against PCNs in writing to the company who issued them, the details can be found on the reverse of a ticket issued.

We use different companies to monitor our car parks to ensure customers are adhering to our terms of use and not miss using the spaces we provide. For example, our stores are often in locations close to other to other retail outlets and customers may park in the spaces we have then use other stores and not visit us. We also have specialist bays that are for blue badge holders not general customers.

My colleague xxx you spoke to gave the correct information in advising you needed to contact Town and City who had issued the ticket to appeal against the charge. However, I'm sorry if you feel the call could have been handled in a more customer friendly way. After speaking to xxx, I understand she advised we would be able to revoke the ticket as a goodwill gesture, as xxx could have handled your previous call in a more appropriate way. However, you have declined her actions to do this.

I hope this email will help explain our position and the reasons you were issued the PCN. If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Kind regards

xxx

It would appear that ASDA seam to have there head so far up the ****of the parking company

What needs to be done then is for customers to fill trollys with goods and when they get to the check out say "Oops sorry, my time has run out I have to move my car in accordance with your company directive so I can't wait for this to be put through the till you will have to put it all back on the shelves", then walk out, of course saying byeee.

Asda do not realize there is no appeal it is a invoice that i chose to ignore

Why they mention about disabled bays morally they should provide them but as the council issue BB they are valid on the highway and council car parks

therefore no standing in law

I have since asked ASDA again

Please supply me the cost of any loss suffered by the land owner

confirm ownership of the car park

I park in the Retford car park most lunchtimes and the guy there knows not to put a ticket on my car as I have "educated" him into why I wouldn't pay it anyway. I'm usually only there for 5 minutes to pick up milk for the office or something for lunch.

I don't pay any other time either........
