Hi, I hope I am writing in the right place. I received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye yesterday, for overstaying my welcome in an Aldi car park. I have read all the comments on here, but I understand the law changed on lst October 2012, and I can't find any advice for tickets issued after that date. I have a good credit rating and am worried that I might lose this if I don't pay. On the other hand, I cannot afford to pay the £70 or reduced £40 fine I am being asked for. Help!

Clairfour...don't bother writing to Aldi unless it is to tell them to stop using a bunch of cowboys otherwise you will shop elsewhere. Otherwise just ignore the ticket and parking eye.

Also do not worry about your credit rating. The only time this could be affected is if they took you to court and won, which is highly unlikely.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Not quite that. Their winning does not affect credit rating. A better way of putting it - "If they won and you then failed to pay what the Court ordered within the time the Court stipulated."

Well done Clairfour.
