A second series of The Sheriffs Are Coming will follow High Court enforcement officers as they recover debts on behalf of individuals and businesses.

The new 15-part series will air daily from today (14 January) on BBC One and will conclude on Friday 1 February.

Each 45-minute programme follows enforcement officers from Croydon-based The Sheriffs Office, which handles around 12,000 cases a year, as they attempt to secure debts for clients who have won judgments against third parties but have been unable to retrieve any of the money owed to them.

Of course, because they know that they are on camera, what you will see will be a sanitised version of what can really happen.

What would be really interesting to know is how much more would they have expected to collect if there had been no cameras.
