Hi,

This is my first ever post on any forum!

When I bought my Vodafone contract in January 2011 they specifically said I could downgrade my contract after 9 months. I double checked this information because I knew that I would be getting a second phone in about 6-12 months time and this one was to tide me over until then.

Unfortunately I bought the phone contract in store so I have no record that I was promised this information - it is not in my written contract.

I have now tried three times to downgrade my contract and each time they have said no it is not possible.

As far as I can gather from looking at forums Vodafone used to offer this as standard but have now stopped. Maybe the sales representative told me out of date information - but I still signed the contract believing that I could downgrade.

Has anyone else had experience of this? I cannot prove what I was told, but I know I wouldn't have bought it if I had not been able to downgrade in the future.

It costs me £41 a month - and I could really do with not paying that anymore.

I have been a Vodafone customer for 10+ years and I feel like I have been tricked.

Thank you!

Olivia

hi OR

we have a good vodafone liason rep here

follow below:

We thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves and to assure you all that our presence on CAG is with the very best of intentions.

vodafone UK has recently introduced a dedicated Web Relations Team which is keen to seek out customers who’re having difficulties with their accounts and feel that they have no other place to turn to than CAG and other consumer forums and blogs.

Naturally, it’s not possible for us to help directly with account specific queries on CAG and as such we would encourage those members who feel we can help them to contact us privately at webrelations@vodafone.com quoting ‘WRT135 – CAG Forum’ in the subject line.

When emailing us we would also ask that you either provide us with a link to your post or thread – if you’ve posted in another member’s thread please also provide your CAG username so that we can check what your query is.

Many thanks

Hi Olivia,

Thanks for making me aware of this.

I'm afraid our policy which enabled customers to lower their price plans nine months after they either upgraded or joined us as a new customer was changed a number of years ago.

However, if you'd like to discuss your concerns further you're welcome to email me via the Contact us form here quoting the code WRT135 - CAG Forum in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a email reference number. To ensure that it reaches me could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

Kind regards,

Lee
