Tooth Fairy Finance are a joke, or they would be if they didn't 'harass' people so much, their IT systems are completely flawed.

I believe they are running this so called Company in a deliberate attempt to make the extortionate fees from people allegedly 'defaulting'.

In my case in the course of writing a series of articles on Payday Loan Companies,

I paid their extension fee to the loan on the day it was due, (showing at that time a total of £544 being owed)

their system accepted the payment (£72) and then within 3 days I started receiving notifications from NDR (Northern Debt Recovery) saying the account was in default.

I logged in to find the loan amount had escalated from 400 + Charges of £144 (less the £72 paid 3 days earlier to extend it) up to £904!

I immediately contacted them on their email contact address.

This email address is also erroneous as it merely bounces with an autoresponder message saying you have to use their contact form.

I then filled out the contact form as an existing customer only to be told by their woefully inadequate IT system that I was not recognised as an existing customer.

I then filled out the new customer enquiry form and sent my complaint via that.

This was eventually answered 3 days later, but none of my points were acknowledged and

when I logged in again the alleged debt was still at a vastly escalated level i.e £904 - £72 = £832 as opposed to £472 - £544 which is what it should have been.

I have taken screen shots (off their website of all my transactions) and copies of all communications with this 'Shower of a Company'.

I will continue to make extension payments of £72 every 14 days until they get their act together.

They are threatening Bailiffs and County Court Action which I would welcome.

I am genuinely looking forward to receiving and defending any County Court Summons they choose to issue.

I am copying all my correspondence with them to over 60 local and national newspapers and every blog, consumer program and website that mentions them.

Of the 14 Companies I have used for my articles these rate as the worst with regards to business ethics!

My advice to anyone using them is phone your bank and tell them you have 'lost' your debit card to prevent them attempting to clear your account out.

I had set up an account specifically for the purposes of writing the Payday Loan articles and feed the account with only the monies needed to service the loans

whilst I document the procedures used by the various Companies.

By phoning the anti-fraud department at the bank I have obtained details of the various attempts that some of the Companies have tried to extract monies on the wrong dates

(well before the due date) or amounts other than that agreed.

To summarise Tooth Fairy Finance AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Hm... I dont think you should keep making payments, you are wasting money :( , i hate people that pay TFF money to keep the amount they owe down, i really see this company as a disgrace who dont deserve anything back they need to be put out of business.

I would advice to not do that.

Don't ever pay extension fees.

Just default, then pay back the loan, extending it will just just prolong the problem.

As for looking forward to Court papers from them, don't expect any, they've changed my £300 loan (which has been paid off more than a year ago) into more than £12000 (yes, 5 digits) and have threatened thousands of times to take me to Court, guess what, they've never done so.

And you know why? they stand zero chance of enforcing the debt cause they can't even agree with them self on the amount owed (a Court would tell them to go away just for that alone, not to mention the countless violations of guidelines and laws), just pay off what you actually owe whenever you can in whatever instalments you can, then just ignore them.

With regards to not paying the extension fees, as I am writing articles that will be published in the near future it is important for me to be seen to be adhering to the initial agreements. That way there can be no fault attributed to me when and if the case is taken to court. I have already instructed Tooth Fairy Finance to issue County Court Proceedinngs against me in order that I may challenge their so called fees and charges in open court.

I'd be interested to know if their website which showed you your loan information was running over HTTPS i.e. Secure Web Traffic... Marshall Hoares Bailiffs certainly doesn't and I have reported it to their ISP who have confirmed they believe the website breaches their Terms and Conditions as it brought up my old address and cancelled debit card number and associated numbers (all except the CSC thankfully!) I have that in an E-Mail from a Manager at their ISP ;)

But it allows you to update that information over HTTP and there is no 3D Secure. So presumably it merely goes to an e-mail account/web page for someone to key in to a card terminal manually. The latter purely speculation though you'll understand!

This is how I spend most of my life :ranger:

Oh dear lord... Just tried it and that one is also unencrypted so IS NOT SECURE... Different loan amount outstanding too which is ridiculous...

Will be finding out the ISP for that server as well in the morning

Hi, yes you are indeed correct, I had not wanted to highlight this on a public forum such as this, but as this has now happened, their website is a prime target for hackers who wish to retrieve personal data, by simply writing a 'brute force' attacking script using auto generated email, phone and d.o.b.s you would soon hit on accounts, there is no limit to the number of 'bad' login attempts or even i.p blocking implemented. They are obviously not using a mainstream Merchant services Company to process their debit card payments as their website would never pass those Companies strict security conditions. As I said before I implore everyone having problems to phone their Bank and cancel their Debit card.

Jagdriver go into marshallhoaresbailiffs.com and put your Loan ID and D.O.B into that. I strongly suspect it will bring up your loan. I'd be interested to see if you get the same or a different amount

I'm also wondering that perhaps they ARE using a Mainstream Merchant Bank Account say Lloyds Cardnet or HSBC Merchant Services etc. But that it is a Mail Order/Telephone Payment account only. Then like I suggested they're just using some form of PHP to e-mail script or something. Afterward keying in the data manually.

And you're right... Ridiculously insecure... Crossing the border on insanity IMHO!

See what I mean? they can't even agree with themselves on the amount you supposedly owe, no Court would take them seriously.

ok very quick look today as im snowed in

it is simply a javascript form

if there is a sql data base the a quick online test shows its vulnable to sql injection - something it shouldnt be as its easy to fix

it doesnt simply email details but does appear to check them against a data base

there was no robots.txt file banning crawlers from certain folders so i checked the assets folder and found the functions.js file which it uses to check details and run the button functions

will have a read down it later

again i am going to state that i have only looked at files that they have made publicly avaliable, none of these files have any restrictions on and i will not visit restricted files

I stupidly got into the payday trap, but all other lenders have been reasonable, giving you options and someone to talk to. Toothfairy are bullies, they never respond to emails and calls, they are the worst loan firm ever. Please anyone reading this, never ever ever go near them.
