A cut in real terms then. They claimed that sickness and disability benefits would rise by inflation - so why is ESA rising by 1%?

ESA WRAG is only rising by 1%, support group by 2.something%

What they do not realise is that the increase in wages never exceeds that of inflation so in essence although you had an increase it did not cover the Cost of Living increase which normally goes up by about 5%. Although council tax went up by 5 or more percent at no time in my working life did my salary increase by the same amount!

In essence despite wage increases my spending power decreased!

I think we should. It seems morally wrong to me that MPs should vote to restrict other people but take even more themselves. They have too much control over their own working conditions.
