I have been looking for information on this but I cannot find any.

So, my defaults have dropped off of my credit file about 6 moths ago and everything on there is okay.

How do I go about improving my credit file. I am subscribed with noddle who have given me a 1 out of 5 for credit worthiness.

I am registered for voting I pay my credit cards and utility bills on time, so how loong does it nomally take to improve?

Thank you

There are a number of basic reasons for a low score, I'll set out a few for you, they all affect how your cedit worthiness is viewed also bear in mind Noddle is not imo the most reliable agency, may be worth checking the main agencies.

So: Are you on the electoral register, not being so has a major effect.

How long have you been at the same address?

Are there any linked/joint accounts at current/previous addresses?

Are there any defaults/late payments/CCJs?

Have you made a number of credit apps in a short time? yes will be adverse.

Are there searches registered by debt collection agencies?

How much of your ''available credit'' is actually used?

Do you pay off your credit cards every month? Yes Good!! sometimes? not too bad. Never? Bad!!

Are there dormant accounts on file?

The defaults being removed does not make a dramatic change, you have to build a credit profile over at least 3 years.

There are more but the above have the greatest effect.
