Darling Ida, we stopped 18 months ago with help from the NHS smoking clinic. We were given prescriptions for Nicorette inhalers and they really work, they take the urge to have a ciggy away. Of course it takes will power and you must 'want' to give up which is something I didn't as I really enjoyed a cigarette.

I'm really behind you and rooting for you. I was on up to 60 per day and if I can do it, you can. It's a lot easier doing it together. If you need any moral support or hand holding, just call.

Hi Ida all the best for the new year and keep up with stopping smoking I had smoked for over 30 years and was on 40 a day when I packed in. If no one else smokes in your home all the better if anyone does smoke then tell them out the back with it. Keep it up and set yourself a target to use some of the money you would have used for smoking and remember to keep your hands busy and dont switch to sweets remember the weight from them.

Keep it up and please report back or ask for help

Don't let that worry you, and don't think 'ah that's it then I failed' and then continue, you haven't failed, just had a weak moment. You can do this.

good point. have also stopped cigs since box day, but had a cigar at weekend. (now need to ensure don't get on the cigars! unlikely though as it didn't go down too well after a few drags)

Isn't cigar smoke supposed to be rolled around the mouth and then blown out again? I don't think you are meant to breath in cigar smoke. That's what some posh git told me anyway. :)
