Hi Folks and Seasons greetings

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for the question: how I make sure that his situation is cut and dried; and I get a refund!

In short:-

I ordered a new laptop from the manufacturers website on 25th November.

Ostensibly it was a bespoke order as I added extended warranty; it was shipped from China.

According to the website, the product was shipping in 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks or so; I called to find that the new shipping date was end Jan; I cancelled the order.

The Order was shipped just over a week ago with an aknowledgement that it had been cancelled - along with some instructions of how to return the goods to get my refund; advising to accept delivery otherwise the refund may be delayed.

The shiny new (quite dull actually) tipped up on Xmas eve - I couldn't resist opening it.

Now the following problems have surfaced which I believe make the thing not fit for purpose... the problem is with this stuff is it can be a bit of a grey area as to whether or not something works - or should be given the opportunity to be fixed....

I went for the convertible laptop - that is I should be able to use it as either a laptop or a windows 8 touchscreen tablet.

From the word go the rotation got mixed up - and the screen is now stuck in the very difficult to use position; upside down for typing.... In tablet mode -holding the thing makes it completely unpredictable.... the pressure of holding it at the sides seemes to do things with the touch screen other than the things that I want it to do.

I'm sorry about sounding like an engineer - I should sum up by saying that the PC has substantial and very niggly issues which, I expect in the fullness of time, could be fixed. I'm not happy with persevering as these product features weren't pointed out to me when I ordered the thing (which came especially from China).... I am also not being paid to beta test the products.

So - what does the team think is the best approach for returning it.... Is the above a good case or should I just return it with fingerprints - I suspect that will invalidate the cancellation though?

I suspect you may have some questions - if you've managed to read this far....

Kind regards and you help is much appreciated - Andy.

At least the Mayans were wrong!
