Hi,

I've ordered quite an expensive rug online from a retailer, however twice they said they would give me a refund when it didn't arrive by the date and it said the courier had lost it.

Each time they phoned to tell me that the courier had forwarded it to another courier as the item was so large.

Finally last weekend they told me again that they would refund me my money as it still didn't arrive by the latest delivery date they had given me.

However it seems they don't process refunds straight away and have told me they have a backlog and it will take up to 28 days while their claims department investigate it and issue the refund as they can't do it from customer services and can't even send me a replacement item, i would have to reorder it if i want it again which i cant do because they haven't given me the refund.

I've asked to be kept updated with this and they called me back again today a week later to say my refund request has been passed on, but it hasn't been looked at yet.

This is kind of annoying as its actually the company I work for and they seem to be following the same process for refunds as they would do with companies they have to make the items and buy them.

Is there anything I can do expediate this refund, or are they in their rights to make me wait another 28 days for my refund, on top of the originally 2 weeks I was waiting for my item to be delivered which should have arrived in 3 days.

If you paid for it with your credit card, then you can do a charge back or make a claim through them.

The rug was £80 plus £3.50 P&P. This is a lot of money for me and a christmas present. I paid with my debit card so I'm not sure I can do a charge back that way.

Some banks will do a debit card chargeback.

Get in touch with them and tell them the goods have not arrived and ask them to do a chargeback.
