FUD from banks

When asked for a comment about charges, most banks seem to always respond with "our charges are in line with other banks".

 

So - if one company charges the same as all the other companies does that make it OK? Obviously not. The charges are simply unfair over the whole board - but I guess the banks can't say that!

 

Also, when the BBA commented upon the recent OFT statement they are attempting to spread Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt by hinting that this could be the "end of free banking". I take this to mean that the BBA are trying to blackmail bank customers, and it's just not acceptable. I think that if charges were funding free banking, it is unfair for all customers - meaning those of us who sometimes pay these fees are subsidising all other customers. How unfair is that.
