This is obviously bad advice. If you read all the response's from others after the article, it clearly states the same advice that is given here. IGNORE :wink:

I don't read as if the Thisismoney article is giving poor advice. They have offered advice from both sides and are allowing you to make a judgement call. You can't get fairer than that!

Aside from the point of the story (which reinforces the idea to ignore, to me anyway) there is an interesting quote there from a guy from ThisIsMoney re: bailiffs:

 

"Barton says it’s highly unlikely it would go to court. He also urges motorists not to feel bullied by threats of bailiffs - they can only be sent after the matter has been to court."

 

Which was something I was unaware of re: bailiffs.
