Hi all,

I'm a Natwest current account (basic) customer with £100 overdraft. I had a very unlucky month, as 2 cheques that i wrote out at the beginning of last month were cashed in at the end of the month, a couple of days before my salary was paid in.

this resulted in 2 x £30 referral charge + £28 unauthorized borrowing fee = £88 !!

I phoned them up but they i found their customer support not very helpful, in fact a bit patronizing. In short, they were telling me not to write cheques out if you can't pay them blabla maybe borrow some money to get out of your overdraft, what kind of cr£$p is that? How are you supposed to know when someone cashes a cheque in?

I have never asked for a refund of any charges and have been banking with them since Feb. 2002, but they were very tough and did not want to refund anything to me!

Now - i'm sure i can find more charges on my account for the past time.

do i stand a chance of claiming them back?

many thanks for your advice,

Chris.
