Hello I'm new to the forums I've been looking around and see there's quite a few threads about Moorcroft and I need some advice.

I had a Lloyds tsb account which was given a £2000 overdraft when I was 19, I used the bank account still until I was 24 always near the limit of the overdraft

I've been employed since I was 16 but lost my job April of this year, things have got tough, not being able to pay phone bills and never having money still not being able to find a job (100% willing to work)

I get a letter a few weeks ago saying moorcroft have my debt and I owe them the full outstanding balance,

I replied with a letter saying ive been unemployed since April and cannot pay,

they want me to pay at least £25 a month

I agreed to this and the payment is due in several days,

however I cannot really afford this,

JSA barely gives me enough to survive let alone pay debts and I refuse to let a family member help me, after all it's my debt.

What should I do about moorcroft?

I've also defaulted on a payment plan with orange now so I guess that will be passed on soon enough,

these debts are really getting me down along with being out of work, I just don't really know what to do

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks, Jamie

hi sj

welcome along

urmm...

what paperwork have moorcrap shown you that they own this debt?

does it show on your CRA file?

as for the mobile

thats not a priority debt either.

as you are on benefits it'll prob end up as £1 PCM

you must pay your priority debts first

like ctax, mortgage rent, gas electric etc etc.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

dont be frightened by any DCA

in 99% of debt, they can do nowt to you

they are NOT bailiffs

but will threaten all manner of things to get you paying.

always best to pay the OC [original cfeditor]

if the debt is still live and owed.

Thanks for the quick reply I'm not sure what a CRA file is?

I never kept the first letter from them, but the one I agreed to pay £25 a month for just says Lloyds tsb at the top is there a way I can find out if I now owe it to Moorcroft?

Can they take me to court? They must of added fees on top they are saying I owe them nearly £2500

if not SAR LLoyds to get them.

you can get your cra file from

Credit Reference Agencies:Experian Equifax CallCredit noddle

noddle is free.

if the balance contain PENALT charges

i doubt anyone will go near a court with this.

  • 2 weeks later...

they prob won't take it to court. pay only what you can afford. if you have not received a notice of sale assignment, then still owed to loyds. ensure that any interest has been frozen.
