hi all, i have put in a claim for ppi from capital one, i went to a company called consumer finance claims ltd back in april this year ,they claimed it would take 12 weeks and it is now 7 months, when i ring them they just say they havent heard back from them as there is a backlog of claims , when i ask them for the details of my claim so i can reach capitol one directly they say "we dont advise you do that " .so can anyone tell me if these type of claims do take this long as far as i know they could just be keeping my money and saying they havent heard from them and be a rouge company .can i just contact cap one myself to ask what is going on ????

thanks in advance jason

Hi Jasonvoak,

This company will take about 20% of any PPI you win.

Not sure if you can pull out now without having to pay a fee.

I am sure someone else more versed in this will be along to advise you more fully and better than I

Good luck

G

Hi

A lender has 8 weeks to investigate a claim and issue a final response.

I would wrote to the CMC and tell them that they have not been able to resolve the issue and that you are now cancelling their authority to act for you. Get them to acknowledge in writing that they have been unable to resolve the issue within the promised timescales.

What do your T&Cs with them state about cancellation.

You will need some hard paper trail showing that you have dismissed the from acting for you because as sure as eggs is eggs, if you succeed where they have failed, they will come after you for their fee.
