HI Gang, I'm back.......

Having been through the courts with various debts over the years,

I always assumed that like charges,

if I'd contested the validity of the CCA,

a PPI claim was out of the question.

A chat with a person in a similar position last week leads me to think otherwise :)

Fortunately,

I already have most of the statements and CCA copies to hand so a claim should be straight forward.

I've done a fair bit of reading on here and a fair bit of googling but I'm hitting a stumbling block on the following.

One of the cards,

I've obviously ticked the "yes please" box but there's no information as to what it entails.

No %, no terms, no nothing and no reference to another document.

On another CCA, the text in the box is illegible.

I am presuming that this amounts to mis-selling as I was not made aware as what exactly I was getting into.

What I could do with is a link to a suitable letter / legal reference to exact terms of mis-selling.

Everything I have found such as this: http://www.consumerwiki.co.uk/index.php/PPI is a bit vague.

Is the considered opinion to use the questionnaire from the ombudsman or write a separate letter?.

Also, is there such a thing as a "vague" PPI refund complaint letter that doesn't stipulate how it was mis-sold, just I had PPI and didn't want / need it?

Also, am I best to itemise the charges (where I have complete statements) and add interest or just ask for the whole lot.

My friend's offer from a bank of over £8k is way over his estimate ;)

Many thanks gang :)

If you feel your were mis-sold then get a claim in.

This is the spreadsheet to use for a standard award under the regulatory guidelines for redress.

FosRunningPPI v102.xls

Typical procedure would be to complete the fos questionnaire (available from the fos website) and submit it to the lender together with a print of the spreadsheet.

Your reasons for the mis-sale will be given in the questionnaire.

You don't need a detailed letter, just a covering one enclosing the documents mentioned above.
