Hey there guys,

this is my first every post so please bear with me.

I've got whatever happens insurance and a few months ago my charger became defective.

I had a charger replaced by them previously but my laptop still had to be sent of as they wanted to check the battery,

I couldn't do without my laptop for another prolonged period so I bought one myself from an online retailer (not currys)

Have I breached my contract in anyway by buying this??

Could they refuse a future repair because of it?

no you wont have damaged any warrenty

i take it the laptop was under the first year still?

if it is they have to pickup due to manufacturer insistance

if its over a year ring up again and say its definatly the charger and they will ussually just arrange for one to be posted out to you

Guest Paul - CurrysPCWorld

Morning,

Thank you for the post.

I can confirm that you have not invalidated the warranty as the battery is classed as a consumable. If you are having problems with your product or charger then may I ask that you send details of your agreement and address through to [email protected] and we will see what options are available.

I look forward to your email

that is a bit of an unfair generalisation isn't it?

dx doesnt see the issues such as premiums rising with acc dam claims on insurance, the cost of the excess on insurance policies. etc

its been discussed before...

I've got a good rough idea of figures on the refusals of repairs and its very very low, not going to go into it tho
