Hi, I have been keeping an eye on my credit report using Equifax since I got a Capital One credit card to try and start to repair my credit. My score with Equifax back in April when I got the card was 305 (Poor!) and it hasn't changed yet.

I just signed up for the free trial at Experian (Credit Expert) and my score there is showing as being 845 (Good!) which I was surprised to see.

I guess these are both scored out of 1000 and if so, why such a huge difference?

Thanks !!

April is a long time ago in the life of a credit report!!! You need to get a fresh report.

A lot depends on how quickly individual lenders up date file, some are odd, I have had a Cap 1 card for some years (normal terms not credit builder) and was alerted last week that Cap 1 were no longer reporting to the CRAs????????????????

Ah, OK!, The Cap 1 card does show on both credit reports. On the Experian one, its down as a negative as the credit limit is currently low (£1000) and I have had it for less than 10 months. It says that when the limit goes up it will increase my score. I got a letter from Cap1 the other day telling me they are upping to £1600.

But my question I suppose is, if my score is so different between the 2 CRA's, are they working to different criteria rather than one just being slower to update than the other?
