    • Hi,   Need some advice. I have had a Blemain Finance loan for a number of years. I have been in arrears for some of this, some with an arranged payment back period and times without. They asked me for details regarding buildings insurance and did say that if none were forthcoming they would arrange this. Over the years I've had hundreds of letters - many of which have just ended up in the bin asking me to contact them regarding this and that. They have also rang my mobile number many many times and left voicemail messages. Payment on the account has recently finished last year and they have said that the payment term has finished and I have paid the amount owed. Now they are telling me that I still owe #50,000 pounds on the account. I have asked them how come when the term has finished. They have said that there is 6,00 for insurance, 1,500 for arranging the insurance and the rest they are very vague about. Now I agree that in hindsight I owe them for the insurance but I am now panicking as to basically how I am supposed to pay off the 50k given I am 51 and looking to wind down my working life not ramp it up.   They have sent me a very threatening letter that they need payment by 4th Feb or they will seek to default on the arrangement and loose possession of my house. Help appreciated.....
    • No i didn't have any phone calls from them apart from 2 weeks ago!    I have read that they are known for harrasment, but I didn't hear?    Do you think that would be a possible way to go? That account is closed though now but it was never registered at the address the loan was taken out. In fact I don't have anything with that address on it
    • I would tend to agree...there are lots of better alternatives...but at the least this need bringing to the attention of RAC and any other regulatory bodies.
    • 1. Range 2-14 days is not “incubation period is 14 days” that you keep banging on about, any more than it’d be accurate to say “incubation period is 2 days”.   Not only do I understand range, median, mode and mean, but distribution (e.g. normal distribution), and standard deviation too ..... having mentioned these previously. Search enough of my previous posts and you’ll see part of my work involves such.   2) I still don’t believe there are 3 authorised labs holding smallpox stocks. Which 3 labs? (You may find that it was always 2 authorised labs, even if it was stock transferred from one to a different one in the USSR, only ever 2 at any one time), but still waiting on you clarifying which 3 so I can see if that is the explanation for your mistaken belief.   You might want to read Kanatjan Alibekov’s (Anglicized : Ken Alibek) book ‘Biohazard’.   3) The smallpox vaccine target didn’t mutate and that was one of the key features in its eradication. It didn’t mutate over centuries. Seems little point in me repeating it yet again, so this is my last try on that point.
    • This is all I got from Northants.    THIS CLAIM IS FOR THE SUM OF £ xxx. Xx IN RESPECT OF MONIES OWING UNDER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ACCOUNT NO.xxxxxxxxxx4899 PURSUANT TO THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1974 (CCA). THE DEBT WAS LEGALLY ASSIGNED BY HOIST PORTFOLIO HOLDING LTD (EX BARCLAYS) TO THE CLAIMANT AND NOTICE HAS BEEN SERVED. THE DEFENDANT HAS FAILED TO MAKE CONTRACTUAL PAYMENTS UNDER THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT. A DEFAULT NOTICE HAS BEEN SERVED UPON THE DEFENDANT PURSUANT TO S.87(1) CCA. THE CLAIMANT CLAIMS 1. THE SUM OF £ xxxxx. COSTS     My phone was unable to record the call due to Google and android 9 stopping it. I have installed a new recorder for future use.    They also told me that the case had been sent to a different dept to attempt an attachment of earnings order which being self employed won't happen. They are still using the wrong address.    Robway emailed to say my complaint has been forwarded to Barclays Partner Finance and is on hold. I don't hold any hope that BPF will uphold the complaint.    Should a set aside be the next step?  While I wait for the CCA.

Equifax tell me to contact 1st Crud, whose data controller was copied in on the request to rectify the default date and no response to date, so complaint off to ICO today.

Update: SLCC complaint finds both my complaints (with regard to the incorrectly set-out stat demand) 'without merit', after over three months of deliberation. No matter, Trading Standards is on his case, big-time, and next stop is the Law Society. And the Police have lost the letter on suspected fraud I sent them.

And...cant get to Law Society as my case has to go through the SLCC first and since the found my case without merit, that's that avenue dried up.

Now waitin on Information Commisioner to try sort this one out.

Not met anybody who has got past those two, the results as I found myself are the same, not their area of regulation = there is no genuine system of complaints from the public.

Whom, the SLCC and the IO? I get the impression no-one really cares!

Trading Standards STILL waiting on replies to further questions asked of the monkey Sol and his 'default' letter. Snails move faster than this process. Will post back as things progress. If they ever do!

Unfortunately they are snowed under with complaints. The last time I made one it took them over six months to deal with it & judge in my favour.

I guess so. It just shows you the level of abuse that's levied against consumers' data.

I yearn for the day 1st Crud loses its licence! But it's their stupidity that amazes me: getting a thicko threat merchant sol from Glasgow to issue a default notice ona certain date yet defaulting me on the same account over a year earlier! That is, in effect, two defaults they've marked on that account, though only one of theirs appears on the file. It doesn't help that the ******* from Yuill & Kyle in Glasgow doesn't know his arse from his elbow.
