Hello,

I have been reading some threads regarding the Data Protection Act 1998, I recently sent a request SAR to the DCA and they followed this up by sending me my file, along with my file they also sent me details of another individual their SAR file basically, what I would like to know has anyone else experienced this sort of practice ? and what actions they took ?

many thanks

In short, yes........... a high street bank, a credit card provider and a mail order catalogue

You can forward the details and any attachments to the I.C.O, they will deal with the matter and educate the D.C.A in question. Contact details at the link below:

Yes it happens a lot. I have had details sent to me with other peoples info on. Report them to the ICO as Mike has stated. I have also written to the person to allow them the opportunity to tackle the bank about their account.

Some useful links.
