Good day, caggers.

Today I received a claim form from the Northampton Court, for Safeloans. I have checked with the www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and it is legit; however, what annoys me is that they have recently agreed to a repayment plan with a review of 3 months and in fact I have made payments for the token money and the first payment as well.

Then I suddenly got this claim form. I do not know how to respond to this; however I am not going to take this sitting down, because I find it very scheming and cunning.

They have not acknowledged the payment I made as part of the repayment plan. If this is going to be case... should I bother making monthly payments then? I made a payment so by now the amount being claimed is now different.

Can anyone advise me on this? I have not made any move to respond to the claim because I need advice first. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You have a strict timeline to adhere to.

Please let us know the date of issue of the claim form - top right hand corner of the claim form.

From the date of issue there are 5 days allowed for service. From then you have 14 days to acknowledge the claim and if you are going to defend a further 14 days to submit your defence.

date of issue + 5 days for service + 14 to acknowledge + 14 to submit defence.

Can you please tell us exactly what it says on the claim form.. in the larger box lower down.. the reason they are taking you to court ?

Do you have written confirmation that they will accept the lower payments.

Are you dealing with the dmplink3.gif yourself or is there a company/charity dealing with this for you.

Was there any attempt to have the interestlink3.gif and charges frozen.

Can you please answer all the questions above.. then we might be able to help you put a defence together.
