I don't think you can, it can only be done from ticket offices or on train guards! Though how that would work if McNulty had his way I don't know!

Still on the lookout for buried treasure!

Any advice I give here is based on my own experiences throughout my life, career and training and should not be taken as accurate. If in doubt, speak to someone more qualified - a Solicitor, Citizens Advice to name but two possible avenues!

If you hold the below document, you can only purchase PRIV rate tickets at staffed stations, from the conductor, (but you cannot obtain a discount on-board if the ticket office was open at the station you started your journey) and from Scotrail Telesales who are apparently selling PRIV rate over the phone on 08457 55 00 33.

How does one buy a train ticket with a (staff) ptac online or from the machine. many thanks..

Not possible, in order to prevent fraud. There's already a bad enough problem with people buying railcard discounted tickets without holding a railcard!
