Hi, Could this be ''undischarged BR'' meaning that final papers have not

been issued, he should contact his administrator.

A voluntary admin order is an alternative to a Bankruptcy order - there must have been an insolvency administrator involved.

You might need to contact the court where the order was agreed to ensure that everything is clear. If you scroll down you will be able to read up about the VA :)

Hi

He would have had an "Insolvency Practitioner" dealing with this on behalf of the court you also need to contact the court and request who the insolvency practitioner was and explain to both your circumstances.

I would also write to the bank that refused to open an account and request where they obtained there information of him being an "Undisclosed Bankrupt" as you refute this claim and therefore require full clarification as not only why you were refused to open an account but where they obtained the incorrect information.

In the meantime you might want to try a basic bank account. Barclays and the Coop do them and they don't require a credit check. (You might want to take the satisfaction certificate with you just in case).

You get no overdraft but they do direct debits and you get a cash card. The Coop is very strict though, 3 strikes and you are out. I.e. 3 bounced payments or going in to debit means they will close the account.
