A friend had a Capt 1 card for a few years and we know there was a PPI on it.

The card is closed now, but we can view it on his credit file.

How do we go about getting this refunded please ?

Had a few texts about using a company but thought we would have a go

Ooooh....don't use a claims company....no way. They will do nothing that you cannot do for yourself.

 

Has your friend got all of the account statements? If not SAR Cap1 to start with. If you can get copies of all of the statements then you can prepare a spreadsheet showing how much the refund should be.

 

Go to the fos website and download a consumer questionnaire and complete it.

 

You should send the completed fos questionnaire and a copy of the spreadsheet to Cap1 with a brief covering letter.

 

Be aware that Cap1 may come back with "you applied for it in a phone conversation" or "it was a postal application". We can cross those bridges of we come to them.

never asked for it, but I remeber it being on the statements, plus I know they added it on to charges, which pushed it over the limit, then they defaulted it.

he paid it off but they left it on the file as settled, when they said they would remove it.

just think we should try
